Fishing New River For Everyone In The Family

By Lillian Powell

Fishing New River can be fun for the entire family. This river will eventually hit Lake Ontario where the United States meets Canada. It has an extremely high variety of fish that can be caught in the waters because it is one of the oldest rivers in the world. This is one of the two rivers in the world that flows North.

Some common fish that fishermen will catch here are Bass, Catfish, Pike, Red Eye and Muskellunge (also called muskies). This river is a popular place for fathers and sons to bond but anyone in the family can enjoy the beauty and recreation of catching fish in these waters.

Many families realize that this is a river that provides the possibility of catching a fish that has been determined extinct by world scales. The sturgeon is a fish that can be caught in these waters. This fish has been around and was swimming during the era dinosaurs were said to be roaming the earth.

Although it is a popular place for wade fishing, it can be quite a hazardous pastime here. There are dangerous underwater currents, undertows and caves that make wading through these waters treacherous. Whenever families decide to do some wading, they should always make sure they are very careful, especially with any small children. It is a good idea to find the safest areas possible when fishing with families.

It is always a good idea, especially when wading, to fish in pairs. Wear a life jacket and keep this jacket filled with the items you might need when you are out in the water, on the boat, or away from your tackle box. Keep extra lures, bait and hooks for the occasions when you lose them to the fish or underwater debris.

Many people enjoy the adventure of boating and fishing New River. Friends, family and company groups gather on and in these waters every day to enjoy the beauty of nature and have a good time.
