Deep Sea Fishing - How To Enjoy The Thrills

You will realize why so many people enjoy deep sea fishing once you have experienced the thrill of it. You will realize that prime for choosing are a number of excellent fish and many of them are what you won't find elsewhere. You will be able to choose between swordfish, shark, tuna, marlin, and sailfish. Even so, you will also be using some specialized tools. Here are some of the options that you have.

Your rod and reel are your backbone. The reel should be able to hold up 300 yards of line because you will needing heavy equipment. The line itself should be between twelve and thirty pound test weight. Making sure that your rod, your reel, and your line are all balanced in size is also very important. For hook size, the leader should be between ten and fifteen feet long and look for 3.0 to 6.0. Double line them. You would also want the leaders to be 30 to 50 pound test.

Bait For Deep Sea

When it comes to sailfishing, a good choice for most deep sea anglers is to live ballyhoo. For bigger choices, consider blue runners, speedos, googleyes, dead bait rigs and lures. Providing the type of bait that is natural prey for the fish that you are after is what you can try. For example, you can use hermit crabs, shrimp, squid, and threadfin for sea fishing. You'll find that your grouper, kingfish, snapper, wahoo and tuna will take these baits well.

A couple of rules of thumb when it comes to bait include not touching it with sunscreen and touching it as little as possible. You'll find a lot of bait near the locations that they are cleaning fish. To help direct you to where bait is plentiful, you can even use the seabirds.

When choosing your gear, make sure to consider where you are planning to go fishing. Rain gear and warm clothing are some of the things that you will need. You can ask your charter for more information.

In order to learn deep sea fish, one of the wisest things you can do is to take a chartered service out. Not only will you be taken to where the fish are, but you are also likely to have a few people to help you learn the tricks of the trade. First, you need to make sure that the charter is a reliable, trustworthy company so that you can't go wrong. Whatever you do, get out there and enjoy the beautiful water and the gorgeous fish!
