Coarse Fishing Tackle Review: The Daiwa Tournament Airity 2508 Reel

By John Deo

I'll be the first to admit that I'm an avid angler who enjoys shopping for fishing tackle almost as much as using it I'm always on the lookout for bargains in coarse fishing gear, since that's my particular angling passion. Quality fishing tackle can be very expensive, but if you shop carefully, especially on the Internet, you're likely to reel in a few bargains. I'm quite a collector of reels, and enjoy pouring over my gear, selecting this one or that one, when getting ready to set out on a fishing excursion. Over the years, I've found the Daiwa range to have the ideal combination of quality and price. I'm especially fond of my Daiwa Tournament Airity reel. Read on to learn why it has a special place in my collection of coarse fishing tackle.

Coarse Fishing Tackle: Key Features of the Daiwa Tournament Airity 2508 Reel

The reel is suitably named Airity, specifically because it is as high as 15% more light weight than other reels of its kind, like the TD-R. Because it doesn't suffer loss of winding power, this piece of coarse fishing tackle generally gets put into my tackle box as I'm assembling my tackle. It hasn't fallen short, yet, and it includes every one of the components that I deem essential, plus more. For instance, I'm glad that Daiwa employs a moulded materials idea known as "Zaion" that promotes the design and building of reels are light yet really heavy-duty. Zaion is weighs just about ½ of aluminium but is equal in power

One other factor which makes this Daiwa reel special is that the handle hooks straight to the drive gear for optimum force. In addition, the Airity comes with 7 ball bearings, 4 of them are CRBBS (corrosion resistant ball bearings). The drag works really well, due to inbuilt Teflon-coated discs and a water resistant flange on the exterior of the knob. Additionally offered are the well-liked Daiwa AirBail and Twist Buster attributes. Too, the Airity contains infinite anti-reverse, ABS spool, plus an additional spool comes along with it. Along with its superior locomotive level wind, and water resistant drag, this reel has a list of extremely remarkable aspects.

Coarse Fishing Tackle: Final Thoughts on the Airity 2508 Reel

To tell the truth, There's not another component that I can imagine that the Airity 2508 needs. Its capacity is 150m of 8lb test line. This reel weighs in at 7.9oz, and has a gear ratio of 4.8:1. One other main focal point of the reel is the insertion of Daiwa's vaunted Digigear element, together with an 81cm crank rate. To end, without fear of becoming overly scientific, My interpretation is that Daiwa employs carbon fibre strands together with a catalyst so that Airity's rotor and body both will have greater strength.

Therefore, if you want a fantastic reel to place into your collection of coarse fishing tackle, It is my pleasure to wholeheartedly suggest the Daiwa Airity 2508.
