Xantrex 1500 powerpack review

By Andy Smart

Should you require to generate power for home appliances then you should get familiar with The Xantrex 1500 which is truly user friendly and reliable.

I bought a couple units to enable power to be used close to a bathing pool..however, the first 1500 quit working after a few hours. When I phoned the Xantrex company, the engineer I soon was speaking to came to the conclusion that the 1500 had a manufacturing fault and told me to return it. I was happy with this honesty. The second unit 1500 has worked for about a month now. The 1500 has a small storage cabinet, in which you might store your bits and bobs in..

Both portable power packs came with no marks, it is important to have your order correctly packed and transported hence, buying from say Amazon is a wise move. When in use and for my application the average draw has been 30 something watts. After a few of months the charge time dropped to below four hours. When I called the producer, the engineer mentioned that battery life was around 200 charges.

What you need to think about is how and why you would use any portable power unit. Let's assume you are using your system in a remote location with no utility supply. It is vital you have a handy power source available to recharge your unit though, it can be done via any truck or even a solar charger available as an option.

But when you have understood how it all performs now, the possibilities and uses for a portable power pack are truly endless.
