Carp Fishing Tackle Assessment: The Shimano Biomaster 8000 XT -B Reel

By John Doe

One of my favourite past times is packing my carp fishing tackle on a chilly, brisk morning, and heading out to tail this fine and crafty fish. Prior to putting the fish back into the water, I'm usually in awe of its splendour and courage. In that I specifically enjoy carp, I want for my tackle to show this. Professional carp gear is obtainable in lots of places, and I could always use some new components for my expansive collection. To be honest with you, I have a special fondness for reels, being that I love to bring along quite a few of them in my kit. A reel that I generally take with me is my Shimano Biomaster 8000 XT -B. To find out the reason why, read further.

This reel is sensibly priced at around £139.99, however, you can search for a bargain online, in particular, for around £119.99. Since it has shown, time and again, that it can be dependable and strong, this reel holds a sure spot in Shimano's line of products.

With many of Shimano's most popular features, such as an included Baitrunner spool, the Biomaster continues to be one of my favourite pieces of carp fishing tackle. The size of the reel is ideal, not too large, so it's perfect for use on most of my specialised carp rods. Although appearance isn't a big selling point for me, I do like the Biomaster's elegant dark colour scheme that gives it an attractive look.

Carp Fishing Tackle: Extra Details on the Shimano Biomaster 8000 XT -B Reel

The 8000 XT -B comes with 3 guarded ball bearings along with 1 roller bearing. An extra element that I like is the Floating Shaft II which cuts down on the friction between the pinion gear and spool shaft. This 2-speed oscillation system contained on the Biomaster is the worm gear style, and furnishes excellent line lay, together with winding shape which works as an energy saver when you're casting. The upshot? A smaller amount of effort, and much lengthier casting distances. To me, the Super Stopper II, which is an anti-reverse component and the AR -C line management system are rather handy. The reel contains a 4.6:1 retrieve ratio. The 8000 XT -B offers a line capacity of 350yd of 17lb test line and its weight is 720g. These many elements join making the Biomaster an incomparable reel.
