How To Use A Fishing Snap Swivel

By Berta Simon

There are few things that are important for a fisherman to own but the fishing snap swivel is one of them. This item is one that can really help to keep a line straight and keep it from twisting or snagging. It might be surprising when you learn it is easier and faster to change hooks and lures.

It is really easy for you to follow the six steps that are necessary to use this. Step one is to put your pole together. When it is together you will want to add a reel, paying special attention to make sure that it has monofilament line on it.

The next step is going to be when you open your spinning reel's bail. Then you just need to pull out a few feet of the line while threading it through the rod's guides. Make sure that you take the line through all of the guides and to the end.

The third step will require that you tie the line to the swivel's round end. You will want to use an improved cinch knot when you do this. One you are finished it is a good idea to cut off any of the excess line.

The fourth step is going to be to open the clasp end by squeezing the wire. Then you want to make sure that you are going to guide the end of the wire that is loose through the groove in the metal. This is the groove that typically traps the wire.

The loose end of the wire needs to be slid through the lure or the hook. This is of course the lure or hook that you want to use. Finally you will need to close the wire that is part of the swivel. Then you will be ready to use the pole as soon as you make sure that the groove will hold the wire in place.

Getting your fishing snap swivel ready is something that you will be able to easily do. When you choose this you will find that it is it does not take a lot of time and you will have it done. It will make your experience more enjoyable.
