Tips On Catfishing For Success

By George Bowman

If you enjoy catfishing very much, there are many things to learn about. Below are some simple yet helpful tips on catfishing.

FISH DURING THE DAY

It has always been true that success comes from experience and judgement and according to the judgement of most catfish anglers, it is a very efficient technique to fish during the night.

Yet some professional flathead guides would claim that catfishing during the day is at times more effective than fishing at night.

Fishing for the monster cats during the day can be successful because of the fact that flatheads generally move less and stay in their common spots during the day so catching them would be much easier. The only problem is that they don't easily get lured by common baits so the trick lies greatly in your catfish baits.

USE A FLOAT

The usefulness of floats or bobbers are frequently ignored by most anglers but they don't know that they are such handy and helpful tools for catfishing.

Casting your bait with the help of a float will hold your bait stable even with a strong water current. Attach the float to your fishline and tie it together with the hook and sinker. Suspend the bait a few inches away from the bottom of the water and you are all set to reel in that monster.

BE QUIET

Trout fishermen can productively catch a troutfish even with all the splashing and lound radio sounds but catfish anglers can never do so in catching their target catfishes in rivers or lakes.

Cafishes actually have a suitably developed organ of hearing which is 15 times more sensitive to the average trout's organ.

If you think you have caught a fish even with all the disturbance of splashing and rock jumping, think again. You might have doubled your productiveness if you had been very silent.
