Fishing Tackle Evaluation: The Shimano Curado E Low Profile Baitcast Reel

By Robert Sue

I don’t know of a single thing more pleasurable than to get together my fishing tackle on a splendid summer morning and travelling to a desired beach, lake, or stream. It is so exhilarating for me to just cast out my first bait to the water and linger around until my senses have become more keen. When I know that my prey is testing the bait, I start strengthening myself for the encounter that’s awaiting. Wait just a minute. The combat has started! If you and I are alike, you are prepared with all the must haves. Being that I favour travelling lightly, my fishing tackle must be resourceful also. Shimano products have been my favourites forever due to the sensible pricing and better quality. Take a look at some details on a reel that I’m really crazy about, called the Curado E low profile model.

Fishing Tackle: Chief Components of the Shimano Curado E Low Profile Baitcaster

I confess - just as soon as Shimano came up with a different design for this reel, I was pretty uncertain. From then on, I have ascertained that the reformulated reel provides a better soothing, then represents improved management. When Shimano slimed down the body, it was somewhat distressing, and then I was informed that the gear box was made bigger to create balance. Too, the reinvented reel includes additional bearings which is a good feature always. The Curado E comes with a 10 lb drag in addition to 5 + ball bearings. It recovers approximately 25" of line every time the handle is turned, plus it is 6.9 oz in weight.

I’d like to tell all my colleagues who are fishermen that this reel comes with a right hand retrieve, plus a 6.4:1 retrieve ratio. In addition to approximately 155 yd of 10lb mono line, it can sustain approximately 120 yd of 50 lb braid. It holds 180yd of 8lb mono line or 110yd of 14lb mono line. It will bear 190yd of 30lb braid and 80yd of 65lb braid line. In conjunction with its robust and resilient one-piece aluminium frame and side plate, it contains a superlative gearing system, and this well-made fishing tackle provides unmatched force and performance. The real is paced with an abundance of favourite attributes by Shimano, consisting of their VBS variable braking system, Super Stopper, Magnalite spool and Dartanium drag.

Some of my favourites are the reel’s recessed reel foot, reduced mass hub on the VBS system, and also the high-efficiency gears. In addition it contains Septon PV power grips for secure handgrip, plus a roller clutch bearing. This reel comes with 5 guarded top-grade stainless steel bearings, together with the Shimano super free bearing supported pinion gear system.

The extraordinary list of components keeps going with its detachable level wind system and its Quickfire II clutch bar. Its spool and handle have been anodised so that they are very corrosion resistant. Last but not least, is the metal cast control knob and the 1/8 straightforward turn access separable sideplate.

I would rate this excellent piece of Shimano fishing tackle at 4.5 out of 5 stars and am pleased to recommend it without hesitation.
