Upgrade Your Fishing Tackle With A Fishing Chair

By Frank Muller

If you are new to fishing your probably will first think about which reel and which rod you are going to get. I do understand where you are coming from with this approach however I think that a fishing chair should also be on your initial list. It is something that is overlooked by many but can add so much value in terms of enjoying the experience. The cost of buying one is heavily outweighed by the benefit one gets. It is a 'no brainer' as they say.

So what exactly are the benefits that a good quality fishing chair brings?

First of all they are not very expensive. This is not something that is going to break the bank. Now relax and breath. But before you do think about how much ones of these chairs costs think not just from a cost perspective. This more value for money. Cost v Benefit. This is the basis on how you truly measure something of value.

Secondly these chairs are strong and light. They have a strapping system, just like a backpack has, that means you can carry them on your back easily. This enables you to have both hands free to carry the other parts that make up your tackle. If you have had to leave your vehicle along way from your peg this is very useful. Also useful if the terrain is unstable which is common along riverbanks.

Thirdly the material they are made from is weatherproof, as it needs to be, and can be cleaned easily with soapy water. Not much of a benefit I hear you say, however have a quick think about it. If you have ever left something that smells of fish for a while it makes for a very uncomfortable aroma for days on end even after you have cleaned it up. The chairs padding also makes it easier on your lumbar area.

Fourthly you will use the tray and cup holder that swing from each arm of the chair. Drink and eat till your heart is content AND still keep both eyes on your swing tip or float. If you get a bite you can still react quickly. This comes in to its own if you are a match fisherman and you are at the peg all day long.

Last, but by no means least, there is a rod holder built in to the frame. The rod holder works well with the tray and cup holder mentioned previously. All of this means that you SHOULD never miss the opportunity to land a fish!

So there are the five excellent reasons why you should consider a fishing chair as being an integral part of your tackle and not just a peripheral. I am not going to insult your intelligence, there are alternatives available. One can walk straight in to a camping shop and pick up a chear folding chair but is this the way to treat your passion in life? The fishing chair is a product that has been designed exclusively for fishing and designed by people who have experienced fishing. Buying anything other than one of these is false economy in my eyes.
