Retail or Repo Boats?

By Red Templeton

My most important search guide is and maintains to be internet auction sources that aggregate and deliver bank repossessed boats, Gov't boat auctions, and boat dealer liquidations to its members or visitors.

If you're a DIY type or or simply looking to locate a discounted boat for sale, the following represent the best public boat auctions sources available on the internet:

1. Boat Auctions Info -- To begin with first and foremost -- it's free. Secondly, it lists several of the most notable big hitter auction houses within the U.S.

2. Boat Auctions Direct -- This resource regularly aggregates and categorizes I think nearly every boat auction resource within the U.S. It's extremely thorough and also lists pwc's, rv's, atv's, and marine parts and equipment auctions as well.

3. Nat'l Liquidators -- With several branch locations, this company is the single largest auction house in the U.S. and continues to dominate the boat auction industry in South Florida. They will on average have 350-400 bank repossessed vessels at any given time.

4. Commonwealth Boat Brokers -- By way of two locations in Virginia, CBB inventories a wide variety of bank repos including rv's and pwc's.

5. Gov Deals -- Don't pay to access Government auction membership sites when you can retrieve most of their detained stock here for free. Simply click the link "Boats and Marine Supplies" and you're able to view what's up for bid .

I've surveyed almost every free and paid membership auction source available online. Though many are beneficial, several are not functional for locating auctioned assets...most notably boats.

Be especially cautious of auction sites (particularly those sponsored Adwords sites) that gratuitously offer repo listings of vessels that don't exist or even sites that ask you to pay a monthly recurring fee. Free access or a simple one time fee is usually well worth it.
