A few Fishing Tips for the Beginner

By Alen Kim

Make sure you choose the right rod for your type of fishing. If you choose a heavy rod for a very light bait or an ultra light rod for a heavy bait it will be very hard mission for you to throw the bait and you may also harm your equipment while doing so. Make sure to match it to the type of fishing you are planing on doing.

Beginners usually tend to buy fishing lines a bit heaver then what they should. It look stronger but not always and even if it does it's not better, especially if you don't need it. Try getting a strong enough line for your targeted fish, area of fishing rod and reel.

Start off with the some live worm bait for example and try out spinners and plastic or silicone baits sometimes to get the fill of it.

Normally you will hear pepople going fishing very early in the morning or at the evening just before sundown - these are the best times of the day to go fishing. Also the tide times are playing a big role when before and after a high tide is also a great time to go fishing.

A good toss of you bait is when if get where you wanted - not how far! Always plan where you like to land your bait so you get better at this. That way if you will see action on the water or any potential spot you can get there.

Always stay alert! Look at the water and explore potential spot for fishing, think where is the best place for them to get food, where are the big fish or the small fish that the big fish is after

When fishing by the river look for the point where streams come together, always think where are the areas that food fish can gather.

Don't look for the big fish right away. Try out targeting for smaller fish, it's usually easier to catch and also not that painful to loose :). Master the way to catch them and retrieve them safely without loosing them or loosing your gear. That way you will make less mistakes when catching your big fish.

When you choose your spinning reel, make sure it will match your rod and fishing line so your kit will be perfectly balanced.
