For an instance, in the Queenscliff pier one can expect to catch a flathead, silver trevally, king george whiting, yellow-eye mullet, garfish, squide and Australian salmon.

The Rip is Australia's most dangerous entrances thus it should only be navigated by experts and only when the water is in very calm condition. This opening is only two miles across and waters are excessively turbulent particularly when tides change. Indeed, only the very experienced boaters dare to pass the rip.

It is always important to protect your own safety and of the others, hence one is deeply encouraged to aboard with them an expert in boating within these waters. To promote safety, one should also handle fish carefully, be extra careful with the knives, lures and hooks, seek alternatives to lead sinkers, be conscious on the dangers associated with Australian water and lastly inform someone about your trip beforehand.

Being well prepared on your trip will increase your chances of success and have an enjoyable experience. When packing make sure to secure these stuffs first, suitable fishing rods, appropriate tackles, bait board and knife, suitable clothing, food and drink, sunscreen, recreational fishing license and asking for local advice is also recommended.
