The Best Times For Virginia Beach Fishing Charter Trips

By Bob Murray

Taking a Virginia Beach fishing charter is a great vacation. If you love to fish or you just love to be on the ocean then this is a great adventure for you. You are bound to catch many different types of fish including croaker, bluefish and flouder.

Summer is also a great time to go fishing at Virginia Beach. There are many chances during this period to catch cobia, spadefish, sheepshead and Spanish mackerel. You can also find good flounder and croaker during this season.

Summer is popular for offshore fishing and catching tuna. When you take a fishing charter make sure you get a good captain that will watch the satellite shots so that you can get where the good tuna is. The captain should have good equipment that will be able to tell him where the good spots are.

For other fishing areas that are great to try are Weather Boy and Norfolk Canyon. Both areas are about seventy five miles from the coast of Virginia Beach. There are some other areas like the canyon walls that are known for great fishing during the summer months. They are worth a try.

Late August and September usually have great tuna fishing. Once the temperatures in the water begin to drop in October, though, the fishing is just not as productive. The season for striped bass is still good, though, because they tend to migrate down the East Coast from November to about March.

So no matter what type of fish you would rather catch, there is usually a specific season that you should charter a boat. Find out beforehand so you are not disappointed. Virginia Beach fishing charter adventures are always wonderful and you should have a great time.
